The role of the Personnel Committee is to provide oversight to the personnel and human resource fucntions of the Village. This can include negotiating labor contract, recruiting and interviewing potential Villages staff, recommending potential new hires to the Village Council, hearing grievances, reviewing disciplinary actions, and coordinating the evaluation process of the Village Manager. The Committee reviews applications and interviews candidates for the Village Commissions and Authorities and makes recommendations to the Village Council. The Committee also reviews and generates personnel policies, office procedures, training requirements, and monitors ethics compliance of Village employees as well as facilitating succession planning for Village positions. The Committee makes recommendations to the Village Council for action. The Personnel Committee has no fixed meeting schedule. Meetings are scheduled as needed.
